Prototype Card Stock Canals

Link to this post 23 Nov 11

Hello! I was mulling over ideas for how to make easy canals and thought about trying to make my own card stock ones. Very quiet day in work so I mocked up a t-junction and straight in photoshop and thought I'd share them with you guys.

Both should be 10" tall with 5" wide canals. I'm not sure if this is too big or not though but it should be easily adjustable if you have access to photoshop or GIMP or similar. I'd post them as pdf's but, alas, I don't know how! I plan on making corners but going to avoid any curves for now, perhaps in the future. If all goes well I'm sure it would be easy enough to make templates for bridges as well.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think. If anyone is avidly playing the game (will be a while before I get to actually play) would you mind playtesting these for me and letting me know how it goes in regards to size, how it looks on the table etc. I designed it to go with the 'streets of Malifaux' terraclips stuff.

Anyway:

This looks really promising! If you can get a PDF together, we can link those in the download section and make those accessible to everyone.

Thanks!

Sweet! How do I post pdfs? Can i just add them as an attachment or do I have to use one of those host things?

When you have the PDF ready (make sure it is not very heavy), you can send it to info@vesper-on.com and we'll take it from there.
Thanks!

Done and sent, hope you like them. They're not amazing but better than these prototypes.

Not to dissuade you or anything, but WorldWorksGames has a TerrainLinX set called Himmelveil Canals that already provides stunning canals that can be converted to TerraClips with very minimal work. Of course, they ain't free, but not too expensive either.

I'm in the process of converting my TerrainLinX tiles to something more 3D:ish. Will post pictures when I actually finish something.

Ah well, I've made them now. Also, they're free. Although the others are probably much better! I'm quite pleased with how they finished up, will post the new ones later.
