First Impressions

Like many here, I am a little disappointed that shopping didn't work today, but heh till should get them as quickly. Just hope you can keep that shipping down as the figures are a little bit more expensive than I would normally pay, not going to stop me as I love the models.
But good things do happen as well, I downloaded, printed and read all the Rules, lists, cards etc.
I am really impressed with what I read despite a few minor typo's, the rules were laid out sensibly and I found very easy to learn, but I imagine will take some time to master. The inclusion of the event and agenda cards is a nice touch and I can see many home designed cards once I start playing. After one read I feel ready to play the game and for me this is rare. Having read the rules I can't wait to play the game.
Excellent stuff, highly recomended.

Hi Elysium, we are pleased that you liked

We apologize for the online store, we had a small problem, but we hope that tomorrow will be solved.

In fact, if you order tomorrow, take the same as if you had done this weekend.

So far only glimpsed through the rules, but I'm impressed. It initially seems to have everything I've been wishing from the perfect skirmish game. It has solid rules for movement and even some cinematic stuff. The combat seems both satisfyingly complex and at the same time they seem to play rather quickly. So far no ruleset I've played (I have no experience on Warmachine/Hordes though so I might be wrong here) has had proper rules for pushing an opponent over a railing to a canal (where there would be hungry crocodiles waiting).

Although I have partial fondness for the Doctors of the Ospedale (due to my occupation), seeing the Cult of Dagon portrayed made me go "Squee!" Heck! I'm interested in all the factions, with the possible exception of the Guild, which I don't personally find THAT interesting (but this is a matter of taste - couldn't actually find anything particularly wrong with them).

The game seems to combine what I love about Mordheim (campaign rules, although now limited to 5, which is a great idea), Confrontation (seemingly good movement and combat rules), Malifaux (agendas) and Hell Dorado (emphasis on the world and terrain) all together. Plus, the common critiques such as LoS determining have also been addressed. Plus, the game also has elements straight from the H.P. Lovecraft Mythos. I'm sold.

After downloading and reading the rules from start to finish in one go I'm impressed. I am a huge lover of skirmish games and completely changed my gaming habits over the years to include the likes of Malifaux, MERCs, Infinity etc.. This game enters the same vein and has fantastic background and the movement rules like running on walls and swimming makes it a real involved character based game. The combat as mentioned before is complex but exciting.

Campaign wise, using Adventures, agendas and being able to upgrade your characters and buy new equipment gives it a whole new depth.

Again as mentioned before Carnevale seems to bring all the best bits from various skirmish games into one unique new setting with such new diverse characters.

Cant wait to get hold of the Fantastic new models and leaning towards the Doctors and Patricians. The Water monsters look interesting and could have huge impacts especially as aquatic based horrors in a water enviroment like Venice, but although the models are very nicely sculpted I have some reserves over them.

The Guild in my opinion need a few more releases as they dont really grab me at the moment im afraid.
