A few very excited and possibly overly impetuous questions

Link to this post 26 Oct 11

Hola! Someone asked questions about this on our club's facebook page today and, after a slightly embarrassing incident involving confusion with HBO's sadly missed series of the same name, I checked out the page.

Can I just say

HELL YES!

This game looks gorgeous. I'm pretty much sold already but can I be a pain and ask a few questions please?

1) How big is the game in terms of number of mini's per side (roughly)?
2) How big is the ideal board size?
3) Is the 29th the official release date? When will it be available via UK distributors (although I'll probably just pay the postage from Spain)
4) Will there be zombies? (I love me some zombies)

I'm quite excited. No, really. I need a hot chocolate or something to calm me down!

As far as I know:

1) I'd say 5 to 10 minis average.
2) 30" for small to medium games.
3) Yes, the 29th is the official release date.
4) There are no zombies in the rulebook, but it seems to fit well in the setting. Besides, you have Deep Ones, Frankenstein's monsters and magically controlled rhinos!

Greetings Dangerousbeans
no problem in asking questions, that's what we are.

1 - in demo games we used the starter, which is about 5 models per band, but a good band will be played between 7 and 10. then you put the limit.
2 - The demonstration board was 24 inches long and is quite well played demonstration games. a good initial board may be 30x30 inches.
3 - is true, 29 the product goes on sale. I hope, only about 15 days later in UK
4 zombies? .. that is secret for now.

Please.........No Zombies.

Well... there are ghosts and there are also rumours about vampires (Strigoi in fact, but not in Venice... by now), from that to zombies there is just one step. But they are not in the first book at least. I'm not a big zombie fan also.

No Zombies in the horizon... sorry guys :)

During the playtest we usually use 5-7 miniatures, and it worked right. Also if you use Equipment, Sorcery, Agenda and Legado rules, you don't need a lot of miniatures to play a big game (in points).

There are no zombies in the book, but the pictures of the nurses of the Doctores del Hospedale look quite similar to the classical caribbean zombie (with their mouth sewed...).

Sounds good! I like small games, preferably on small boards so this sounds like it fits the bill. Lack of zombies makes me sad but I'm sure there'll be other weird and wonderful things to look forward to.

Really looking forward to Saturday now :D

Sorry, one more thing. Are the 'Independant Characters' like mercenaries or are they specific to one faction? Love the models for the Harlequin and White Dove, can they work with the Doctors? (planning my first order already :D)

Independant characters such as The Harlequin or The White Dove act like mercenaries, they belong to no-one and they work with anyone... for a price.
They have a cost in points, but this cost can vary depending on the faction who hires them. For example, White Dove prefers to work with the Patricians, so they can hire her for less points than other factions.

Excellent, I'll be getting me them then.

Any idea who the UK distributor will be?
