The Masked Minstrels Miniatures (W.I.P)

Woot, my figures arrived yesterday which is what I've been waiting for since last week from the only Australia distributor who stocks them. Hopefully it will become more popular here and take off grandly!.

With my Patricians, I really wanted the option of changing their load out each game - I love having the versatility, even if I just kept the same combination of equipment each time for my own squad.
So I planned to magnetize the hands, only to see how small the hands are, and with the smallest magnet being 2mm x 1mm, this would be a challenge.

However (apologies for quality of pics, took them with my Ipod Camera)

And with alternatives

I still have two pistols to magnetize, and then have to do the guards' weapons.

Hey the cat makes an original feature, but the barnaboti man with the fan... jeje is astonishing. :D

I've been thinking of using magnets for a while, but never really got down to it. It would be really interesting to see some close ups on how you did that, which would be useful for me and everyone else in here too, if you have the time!

Masked Minstrel, which Molds are you using for your Terrain??

Id try to take close up pics but my camera work is unreliable as it is I'm sorry to say =/

As for the magnets, I used 2mm x 1mm rare earth magnets, and for most of the hands / arm sockets I cut the magnet in half.
Using my pin vice with the smallest drill I drill recesses to place the magnets with the exception of the Barnaboti female because her arm is so thin to attempt to drill it would destroy it, in fact the drilling started to open up the arms so when I paint them part of the magnet will be forming the arm.

As for the molds I use...
I couldn't break down the individual bits but I use molds:
#40 basic block
#53 Bridge mold
#54 Goth Church
#55 Goth Belltower
#203 Cracked floor tiles
#205 Goth floor tiles
#250 Small Brick
#268 Brickwork floor tiles

And bits from
#70 Fieldstone Wall
#71 Fieldstone accessories
