Squad sheets in card form

Enlace a esta entrada 02 jun 12

I understand that the spaniards have done something like this so far. I just thought I'd so something like it and created this in a couple of hours. It's quickly done and it shows on some parts, but should be sufficient. What I've mostly done is just render the downloadable pdf in 300 dpi, copy the stat sheet and scale it down to a regular card size, throw it into a publishing software (Scribus) and add the remaining rules text.

I haven't checked with the errata for changes, so if you spot errors or have suggestions, please feel free to tell them.

Please note, this is only the Ospendale docs thus far. Rest will follow, if you consider these useful.

They look pretty nice, sir!. As I've mentioned elsewhere, we're working on something similar of our own, but we're still counting coppers to cover the cost of printing them. In any case, if you go along and finish them all, we'll link them in the Downloads section for everyone to use, if that's alright!

Okay, here are the cards for the Patricians, I didn't include full rules for the Black Specter as they wouldn't have fitted the card and referred the player to consult the rulebook for the Elitist possession rule.

... and since apparently I can't seem to quit whilst I still have a head... here are the Rashaar.

Sanity check failed.

I apparently need to post these one by one or the forum software commits ritual suicide.

could you clip the rules off the bottom and place them on the back of the card? you have to double side print it but this would leave room on the front to make the text larger and easier to see.

I had considered that, but that would require more specific layout planning and a larger revamp of the cards. Plus the flipside would look rather dull with just the text. I had thought of using the illustrations in the rulebook, but as they're not in the PDF files, scanning them would be a copyright violation, although as bleached images they would suit rather well as background images for rules.

These were originally for personal use - to be printed on label paper that would be sticked to cardstock. Also, the main side would have a bit too much white space with just the stat sheet, so there are some aesthetic problems involved. Mostly though, I'm too lazy to go through the 2-side design at this stage.

These are perfect for me but I know a lot of people at my local store with seeing small text. Thanks dude.

For the record, I had something like this in mind for the reverse sides, but this would require quite a bit of work (and both the permission from Vesper to use the images and also preferably the original images so I could use them directly without having the time and trouble scanning them).

Hi Silveri,
These are looking really good, sir. Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, but we're really busy with the new release for this weekend! As soon as we can spare a couple of minutes we will place them in the Download section of the site. Thanks a lot for your dedicatio, my friend.

By the way, feel free to use the art of the book for anything like this. As long as you don't charge for these PDFs, you're free to use it as you see fit.

Well, if you give me permission to use the imagery, then perhaps I could have another bout of insanity and do the flipsides as well. What I would require for that is preferably the original image files (or at least halfway decent 300 dpi resizes) as some of the images on the book are superimposed with text and rendering them in GIMP also renders the text.

The job would be a lot easier with the illustrations already on separate files.

You already have my email. And I also give my word not to use them for anything else than the card images and (if you also allow) possibly for Carnevale related promotional materials.

wow silveri, your work is amazing. congratulations

Well, sending all the 300dpi images would take a lot of time, and we don't have that at this point. In any case, for the size of the card you should be fine with the ones from the PDF. Give it a shot if you feel like, and maybe we can work something out in a while!

Fine. I'll see what I can come up with. I assumed that you had the originals already in a more or less convenient digitalized form, but apparently I was wrong.

I'll try to grab what I can from
the PDFs and create those when I have enough spare time on my hands

I greatly appreciate your effort making up these cards and sharing them with us, saying they are convenient to have would be an understatement :)

All I can say is, dude you are awesome.
